 Music at Pinner Park
Pinner Park Junior School: Music
Music is very high profile at Pinner Park Junior School. We aim for all of our children to have access to and enjoy the curriculum as well as the wide range of extra curricula activities. They should all be given the opportunity to express themselves through music and be uplifted by music and song.

We have a specialist music teacher who provides the children with quality music lessons for an hour each week along with the opportunity to develop and hone their singing voices each week as we sing together as a community.

Peripatetic Music lessons
Children in Years 3 - 6 are offered the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Our pupils learn a wide range of brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments: Guitar, Violin, Cello, Drums, Flute, trumpet and French Horn.

Class Music Lessons
Some year groups learn a musical instrument as well as their weekly music lessons.

Year 3 learn the tenor horn for approximately 10 weeks for each class. This provides a taster and many of our pupils then choose to take up an instrument following these classes.

Years 6 learn the steel pans. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn an instrument that requires skill, teamwork and is culturally enriching.

Extra Curricular Activities
As part of our extra-curricular activities, pupils in Years 3 - 6 have the opportunity to join the school choir. The choir has performed regularly at the end of term whole school assemblies, Harrow Songfest, the annual PTA school fair and appearances at the Albert Hall.
